Who ever decided Valentine’s Day should be held February 14 was a smart cookie. It’s winter, the days are long and dark, and we’re only half way till spring. It’s the perfect time to scoop up the one you love and hit the town for some fun. If you live in Toronto, there’s dozens of special events happening but here are three we think are super fun.
Ripley’s Under the Sea Dinner for Valentine’s Day
Ripley’s Aquarium: This one sells out pretty quickly so you’ll have to be on the ball next year. Imagine enjoying a meal with your special someone while stingrays and sharks swim right beside you? The cost for two is steep—$275 per couple—but it’s still really popular. Best to mark your calendar early so you don’t miss out.
The Art Gallery of Ontario’s Valentine’s Experience Package
Art Gallery of Ontario: Whether you love the old classics or modern art, spend time with the one you love strolling through the galleries at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Then enjoy a special Valentine’s Week Cinq-à-Sept menu at FRANK, the AGO’s fine-dining restaurant. This package is only $110 for two.
Love at the Zoo
Toronto Zoo: It might not be “romance” but the Toronto Zoo thinks we might be able to learn something from the “elaborate, awkward, and sometimes hilarious lengths to which animals will go to attract a mate.” For $140 (for members, $160 non-members) per couple, you can enjoy dinner, a special animal encounter, an interactive group presentation, and a peek at the zoo’s future Reproductive labs.
Or… forget about heading out! Stay home and cozy up with your sweet somebody, watch your favourite movie, and indulge in this delicious bevvie! ☺
